American rapper Lil Pump joined the ranks of celebrities and athletes who began to use and invest in cryptocurrencies.
Lil Pump is the stage name for Gazzy Garcia, an 18-year-old rapper and producer from Miami. Lil Pump is well known for its vibrant and boastful reading style. Most of his tracks revolve around the themes of money, jewelry and drug use. His most popular song “Gucci Gang”, released in 2017, has reached 3rd place on the Billboard Hot 100.
Lil Pump is now accepting Bitcoin in its online merchandise store, where shoppers can purchase T-shirts, sweatshirts, and fashion accessories. Although BTC is not indicated as a payment option on the store’s landing page, it can be selected at the final stage of payment along with credit cards and PayPal. As the market begins to recover, it is not surprising that many other retailers are beginning to take advantage of cryptocurrency payments.
The adoption of cryptocurrency is still in its infancy. The general public knows very little about digital currencies and therefore has very few reasons to use them compared to other traditional options such as credit cards or PayPal. Cryptocurrencies currently need publicity. This publicity is enhanced exponentially when people see or hear about them from people they know and trust.
